SEO For Cryptocurrency Guide

This SEO For Cryptocurrency Guide will explain how to use SEO to drive organic attention to your cryptocurrency. Cryptocurrency is digital money that is decentralized. It runs off of peer-to-peer networks, doesn’t require banks or people’s names to use, and has a limited supply. The most common forms are Bitcoin , Litecoin, Dogecoin , and Namecoin . They are popular for many reasons, one of which being anonymous transactions (although not completely untraceable) between two parties.

As cryptocurrencies get more popular, it becomes harder to get onto the first page on Google when someone searches for your cryptocurrency you are trying to sell/buy/trade with. The following tips will help increase visibility in organic search, thus bringing up your coin’s value.

1) Use Proper Keywords & Don’t Repeat Them Too Much

When optimizing a page for SEO, using the right keywords is key. Overusing them will make your article look spammy and decrease its quality score (how Google views your site). The more words you use in the title tag, the better. Just make sure to vary what you put in there. For example, if you are writing about Dogecoin , don’t just name it Dogecoin over and over again. Most of the time, I see people say “Buy Dogecoin” or “Dogecoin Wallet,” but that does not really tell me much about what they actually do . It would be better to say something like:

Buy/Sell Digital Currency : Our exchange allows you to buy and sell cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Dogecoin.

Digital Currency Wallet: Get a secure cryptocurrency wallet to store your money online. This lets you send/receive coins via email and keeps your transactions anonymous.

That way it is not just repeating the same thing over and over again (which makes it spammy) but also gives me an idea of what they do there.

2) Use Proper Image Sizes & Names

I found this one out recently when writing my own article about Dogecoin . There are specific sizes that Google recommends for images.

You also need to make sure to name your images properly. Google will not use the filename of the image, but rather it will get the “ALT” tag (the text that pops up when you hover over an image). So make sure to name it something SEO friendly.

Linking out to relevant sites helps bring their authority to yours and vice versa. This is because Google wants you linking out to other websites so people can see more information there if needed instead of just on yours. The best way to do this is by using keywords in your links, i.e.,  Litecoin official website or Ethereum official page.

4) Use Schema Markup To Your Advantage

Schema markup provides rich snippets in search. It tells Google that you are writing about a specific thing, so it can then display it with your result giving you more credibility in the eyes of the user. Here is an example of what this looks like:

This showed up when I searched for Dogecoin . This basically means that Dogecoin itself wrote this article here. While not everyone will see this immediately upon searching, having them on there gives people another reason to link to your site because they want their own website to show up like this too!

5) Use High Quality Images & Videos

Just like images, videos need to be properly named and sized. You can find more information here: Structured Data – Videos . Google does not want to display a random image from the internet on your results page. It wants to show something original that you have created yourself. So make sure whatever you upload is high quality and relevant!

6) Provide The Important Information Up Front

It used to be that SEO experts recommended putting all of the pertinent information at the bottom of an article so it would seem longer, but studies have shown that this actually does not result in better rankings because Google will only read a certain amount of text on their first page results before giving up. The only exception to this rule is if you are trying to rank for a specific keyword that heavily relates to your title tag/first paragraph, but the majority of the time you do not need anything further down than this.

7) Use Long Tail Keywords & Answer Questions

This one may seem self-explanatory, but it is important nonetheless. Not everyone will use your exact keywords when searching for something. While there are definitely people who type in “Dogecoin Wallet” every single time, there are others who simply ask Google what they should use or how to do something. When answering these questions, make sure to target long tail keywords! For example: What Is Dogecoin? How To Mine Dogecoin.

8) Use Unique Titles For Each Article

This is the most important one because people will base how well you rank off of this. Make sure your title is unique, but also keeps the same standard as what you have already done (i.e., stay within your brand identity). It should also include several keywords and be roughly 70 characters long. Google wants to know what your article is about before they even click it, so make sure that it stands out and gets them interested! 9) Keep Up With Analytics/New Content

Lastly, keep with everything you do! You may want to spend a day or two going back through your older posts and updating/optimizing them if you have the time. Making sure that everything is up to date will help keep your site from looking spammy, which means better rankings. Make sure to spend some time on Google Analytics as well because this can tell you so much about how people are reaching your website and what they are doing once they land on it. How do they find you? Where are their social media accounts? What keywords did people use? All of these questions will help you get more targeted visitors in the long run!

10) Have Fun & Be Creative!

If SEO is starting to sound boring, that’s because it kind of is. That being said, the more you do it the better you will get and the easier it will become. Take your time and work hard! Just remember what you are doing this all for: sharing your passion with others and hopefully making a little money along the way as well. Good luck!
